This year it is 100 years since the Danish-Danish federal law came into force and made Iceland an independent nation.Throughout 2018 the event has been celebrated with a number of events, lectures and exhibitions in both Iceland and Denmark.The gala performance, where a number of Danish and Icelandic artists perform, are organized by the government and the parliament.
