  1. The posters on B.T. expressed every position from Right to Left and a few things in between. Someone said what you have too kay I thought the Queen's remarks skated near being political but she was really talking about civil society, which is more than just the political sphere (although it is included in what is civil society). Strictly speaking it was similar to the theme of last year's but the GFC has now been going on for three years (it started in 2007 but wasn't widely talked about in the general media until 20 months ago), so it may well be a theme for some years to come. Trine Villemann is showing her ignorance on that point. Such a widespread crisis will have cyclical effects for at least 10 more years according to many economic commentators. The only thing I would say about the Queen's viewpoint is she has a "once lost, it's lost forever" attitude. I think what really happens in society is we make news pathways to solve problems in different ways to previous generations, and historically every generation does that. I think QM has a romantic view of Danish history together with a critical analysis of what gets in the way of that view. Sorry, hard to explain without a bit more of a rave I agree on many things you say I think you are right, that she is not too political, but closer than she has been for years IMO to being political. I also think she speaks more about her take on community, values and being openminded. A generel outlook on life. But the way she expressed it, made me think she has the political view - take on life that I expressed earlier, but without saying ot directly. Yes - Trine Villemann seems ignorant in that case
  2. One of her best speeches. She was addressing the fact that the social differences are increasing. Those with most ressources and highest income got tax reductions and now the economically weakest must pay as the government are planning to take away fundamental welfare help from the unemplyed, the elderly and all those who lost their jobs this year - who cant get a job now anyway! I am convinced she is not a fan of the politics led by the current government Just my opinion Thank god 2011 is election year
  3. Does anyone have a clip or a link, so that I can actually hear Marys speech
  4. I dont think she is doing this from her own experiences - she was welcomed with open arms by the public and by Frederiks friends and family it seemed. I dont think it is more difficult to fit in in denmark or be accepted than it is in e.g. france, the Us or germany etc. There has been a lot in the press about the danes are a tribe that demands this and this and if you dont live up to it, then you are frozen out. I think this is to some extend a media created image that is not the entire truth. Danes are also warm and open people and most of them welcome other people. Personally, I have a lot of friends who have come to denmark as adults and they cannot relate to that image - although I am sure some danes are ignorant and not very open to "outsiders" coming in - those people exists in every country
  5. It may sound like wah to you but we are yelling hurra.. The first - "hu" is not very strong/pronounced very clearly so it is the second "rra" that you would hear most clearly..and when it is yelled it becomes (hu)rraaaaaa, with stress on the latter - the long a-sound which sound a bit like [ahhh].. and raaaa sounds a bit like wah if you are not a native dane.. Does it make sense at all?? http://www.bt.dk/royalt/artikel:aid=435700:fid=100021708/ In the right side it says videoklip Right under this it says.. Regentparret på fredensborg(in red) - press on that and a video will be shown. It was a few days ago when the Queen and the prince consort moved into their summer residence in Fredensborg - right next to F and M´s home..They were welcomed by the locals of Fredensborg carrying torches and a cheer was made for the Queen.. If you listen carefully you can hear a quiet "hu" before the raaaa or wah
  6. I believe its "hurra" (hurrah).. We simply yell hurra a number of times and the final cheer is called the long one -- Hurraaaaaaa, which could sound like hu - wahhhhh if one doesnt know what is being yelled.. Often the wueen will say "long live denmark" or something like that - or another man will say "long live the queen" and then it is followed by the cheer. Its normal to yell hurra when somebody has a birthday or at other big occassions.. Dont you say/yell hurra?? I thought it was something done in many countries???
