Programme for Mary's attendance at Women Deliver 2016 (pre-conference events + CPF and PB included) Sunday 15 May HRH the Crown Princess’ programme Reception at the Australian Embassy 17.20 The Crown Princess attends a reception at the Australian Ambassador’s residence ahead of the Women Deliver Conference. The Crown Princess will be received by Ambassador Miller, Australia’s Ambassador to Denmark, Norway and Iceland and Ambassador Stott Despoja, Australia’s Ambassador for Women and Girls. Monday 16 May HRH the Crown Princess’ programme Young Leaders Program 9.00 The Crown Princess arrives together with HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway who also participates in the event. As patron of Women Deliver Conference 2016, the Crown Princess will give a speech at the Young Leaders program that seeks to elevate the potential and passion of young advocates by providing opportunities for Young Leaders to build their capacity and skills and find platforms for them to share their voices and experiences. Delivering as One – Global Partnerships for Global goals side event 11.00 The Crown Princess attends the side event Delivering as One – Global Partnerships for Global goals. Minister Forum 12.45 The Crown Princess gives a speech at a forum for ministers participating in the Women Deliver conference. The Minister Forum is organized by the UN Population Fund UNFPA, the United Nations equality organization UNWOMEN and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. 35 ministers from around the world are expected to attend and exchange experiences and discuss how to ensure increased investment in girls’ and women's rights and health. Maternity Foundation side event 14.00 The Crown Princess attends the Maternity Foundation side event and gives a speech. The Crown Princess is patron of Maternity Foundation, which is a Danish development organization that aims to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in developing countries. Women empower business 12.30 The Crown Princess gives a speech and inspects a photo exhibition about the conditions that women have in developing countries in which Danish companies operate. Opening of UNFPA’s photo exhibition 16.00 The Crown Princess gives a speech and opens the exhibition #childmothers. The photo exhibition #childmothers focuses on girls that have become mothers before turning 15 years of age. Photographer Pieter ten Hoopen and journalist Sofia Klemming Nordenskiöld have met child mothers in five countries: Bangladesh, Zambia, Haiti, Jordan (Syria) and Burkina Faso. Wednesday 18 May HRH the Crown Princess’ programme Amplify Change side event 7.00 The Crown Princess will give a speech at the Amplify Change side event. Amplify Change works for men and women’s sexual rights. HRH the Crown Prince’s programme DIF/IOC side event 7.45 The Crown Prince, member of IOC, gives a speech at the DIF/IOC side event: "Giving women and girls a sporting chance” The Crown Princess attends the event. The Crown Prince Couple's programme Writing on Women Deliver for Good wall 8.05 The Crown Prince Couple will write on the Women Deliver for Good wall. HRH the Crown Princess’ programme Meeting with Young Leaders, The Mary Foundation 10.00 The Crown Princess will, together with CEO for The Mary Foundation Helle Østergaard, meet 15 youths to talk about the conference, outputs and contributions. A grant from The Mary Foundation has enabled 15 young men and women from around the world to take part in the Women Deliver conference. The recipients of the grant come from Burkina Faso, Malawi, Egypt, Kenya, Cuba, Ghana, Uganda, Malaysia, Benin, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. They are all involved in working on behalf of women’s health and rights in their own country and have also acted as advisers in international contexts.
