Crown Princess visited early in the day a Safe House for battered women and children run by a local NGO, and was during the visit informed about the history and current activities. The Crown Princess was subsequently shown around and greeted some of the local residents. The center has housed women and children since 2005 and offers in addition to shelter, among other things, medical care and training in self-defense. The Crown Princess took part later in a lunch discussion with activists and civil society leaders working with issues from female genital mutilation, sexual and reproductive health and rights. Later in the day visited the Crown Princess visits by sustainable business suns rebels and met in the context of the place female founder and entrepreneur. During the visit, the Crown Princess presented parts of the production and spoke with some of the employees. Sole Rebels aims to create good and well-paying jobs in a community marked by unemployment. Today employs 120 employees, most of whom come from marginalized groups. The production of shoes exported globally, and shoe soles made from recycled tires that you have done for the last 100 years in the country. The remaining materials come from local organic or natural sources. The Crown Princess also visited the Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa that treat obstetric fistula. Obstetric fistula occurs in most cases as a birth injury from often young women, where the child is stuck, resulting in a complicated and protracted birth. Obstetric fistula represents a major part of the sexual and reproductive health problems in Africa and besides physical discomfort often the consequence that the affected women find themselves rejected by their spouse and socially ostracized by the community. During the visit, the Crown Princess an introduction to the hospital's purpose, activities and results and participated in a tour of the hospital and greeted the hospital's health care professionals. The Crown Princess attend Wednesday evening along with trade and development minister in the reception of the Danish ambassador's residence. The Crown Princess visits 16 - February 18, 2015 Ethiopia along with trade and development minister Mogens Jensen to focus on women's health and rights in humanitarian emergencies and on female genital mutilation. Blue and white china, goes a treat with Dr Hamlin's Ethiopian cushion covers.
