Monday, 29 February Saudi Arabia Opening of business promotional campaign10.15The Crown Prince Couple participate in the opening ceremony, where approximately 300 persons will take part, including the Danish business delegation and Saudi companies. The Crown Prince speaks and afterwards presides over the official opening of the campaign. After the official opening, the Crown Prince Couple will make the rounds among the companies at the business fair and meet the participating Danish companies. Visit at WAX seminar12.30The Crown Prince Couple take part in the WAX seminar, which will broaden knowledge about Danish competencies and solutions in the area of water conservation. WAX (Water Alliance Exchange) is a cooperative effort among Danish companies in Saudi Arabia. Visit at Arla12.45The Crown Prince Couple visit Arla on the occasion of the company’s opening of a new warehouse in Saudi Arabia. At the business fair, the Crown Prince Couple will open a miniature version of the warehouse, which symbolizes the opening. The Crown Prince Couple will get a tour around the building site. The health minister and the business and growth minister also take part. The objective of the event is to create relationships and share experiences so that, in the long term, vocational education programmes can be established in Saudi Arabia. HRH The Crown Princess’s programme Visit at King Khalid Foundation 15.15The Crown Princess and the health minister visit the King Khalid Foundation, which is a Saudi charitable organization led by Princess Banderi bint Abdulrahman AlFaisal. The organization’s work focuses particularly on violence against women and children as well as combatting poverty.The Crown Prince Couple’s joint programme Farewell reception 20.00 The Crown Prince Couple will take part in a farewell reception at the Danish ambassador’s residence. The reception will focus on Danish design, and both Danish and Saudi business guests will participate. Wednesday, 2 March Qatar Visit at Maersk Oil14.00The Crown Prince Couple visit Maersk Oil’s headquarters in Qatar and get a presentation about Mærsk’s history and current role in Qatar. During the visit, the Crown Prince Couple will be shown around the office and, among other things, see One Collaborative Working Environment, which is a special office environment from which all offshore operations are directed. Visit at Aspire Academy15.30The Crown Prince Couple pay a visit at Aspire Academy, which was established in 2004 and is now one of the world’s leading sports academies for children and young people. During the visit, the Crown Prince Couple will be told about the academy’s work in Qatar and will be shown some of the academy’s facilities, among others, an athletics stadium, a football stadium and a swimming stadium. Afterwards, the Crown Prince Couple will attend presentations by the former Danish national football team player Ebbe Sand on a green sports facility and the interplay between green building activities and sports, health and nutrition. Visit at Doha Museum of Islamic Art19.35The Crown Prince Couple visit the Doha Museum of Islamic Art, which opened in 2008 and, as such, is the first of its kind in the Gulf Region. During the visit, the Crown Prince Couple will get a guided tour of the museum’s art collection, which represents Islamic art dating from the 7th to the 19th centuries, and thus provides a glimpse into regional culture and history. Among other things, the museum also contains a library and classrooms. Business dinner20.00The Crown Prince Couple participate in a business dinner for Danish companies in Qatar and local decision-makers in private companies and public institutions. During the dinner, The Crown Prince will present HRH Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour and the Danish Export Association’s Diploma. Thursday, 3 March Qatar HRH The Crown Princess’s programme Visit at Qatar Foundation08.20 The Crown Princess pays a visit at the Qatar Foundation, which works for education, science and the development of the society, with particular focus on, among other things, the education of girls. The foundation has also helped a number of foreign universities establish a presence in Qatar and, through that, has raised the region’s educational level. HRH The Crown Prince’s programme Visit at Oryx GTL factory08.30The Crown Prince visits the harbour area Ras Laffan and will be shown around it. During the tour, The Crown Prince will be shown the Oryx GTL (Gas to Liquid) factory and be told about the cooperation between Oryx and Haldor Torpsøe. The Oryx GTL factory is the first industrial factory in the world where gas is converted to clean diesel, and the technology behind the factory was developed by Haldor Topsøe. HRH The Crown Princess’s programme Visit at Qatar Academy09.30 The Crown Princess visits a local Qatari school that is a part of the Qatar Academy, which consists of five schools. The schools offer education at all class levels for students from the ages of 3 to 19 years. At the school, The Crown Princess will, among other things, visit a Year One class and get the opportunity to talk with students and teachers.
