A gallery http://www.lokaltindblik.dk/lokalnyheder/tre-prinser-dukkede-op-til-baaltale-i-trend.aspx

"The Princes surprised everyone and turned up for the Midsummer festivities"

The citizens of Trend got themselves something of a surprise during the annual Midsummer party on the beach.

The Holiday Home Society of Trend had known about it for 14 days, but it had been kept secret from the entire village.

So it was a few gaping faces that watched as the princes suddenly came rolling in on the beach in a green VW Caravelle at 21.00 o'clock. The princes were going hunting in Trend, but had decided that they would attend

Vesthimmerland Municipality Mayor Knud Kristensen's speech at the Midsummer festival.

The princes were both talking to the people, shook hands and sung with the midsummer song before they drove on to the hunt."

According the Magazine Her og NU, the CP family will stay at Grasten Castle for some of their holiday in July.

- I can confirm, that the Crown Prince couple with children will spend the holiday at Grasten Castle for most of July. Says Lene Balleby

The magazine by that, then concludes that they will go into Queen Ingrids footsteps and spend their holidays there in the future. They even transforms a quote from QM in 2004 into Frederik already been given Grasten Castle. Well, it possible that they will only be there for this year, with QM and PH in Greenland from 9 -23 July and replace them while they are away. But we will see:-)

Maybe they will use it base and make detours to other parts of the country to visit friends. Hopefully the press will leave them alone and not stand at the front of the Castle yard all day long. It will kind of be a test of what they can expect.

Anyway the local North German Newspaper Nord Schleswiger writes that the family will watch the ring riding parade at Grasten 19 July.

Thanks, maybe we will see the children riding (horses or bikes) with their parents . We see different activities from Frederik and Mary when at Grasten Castle.

Not sure if the children ride horses though.

This weeks 'Gråsten Avis' (local paper - out yesterday) page 3 article

http://graastenavis.dk/ugens-avis/#fb0=5

google trans:

"In the coming weeks Gråsten Castle is the summer residence for Crown Prince Frederik,

Crown Princess Mary and their 4 kids. On Monday the Crown Princely family moved in at the white castle

where they will stay for the next three weeks."

Don't know if Frederik arrived with the family and then flew to London from maybe Billund airport or

if it was only Mary and the kids.

It's a bit odd, that the arrival has not been reported anywhere else. Not even BB.

Well, BB has to know it before they can report about it:-) Her og Nu just got it first. They probably got a few different indications that the family may be heading to that area before the usual time, then put 2 and 2 together, inquired the court and got a confirmation. Now it's out, it's possible BB will probably have in the mag tomorrow. It will be interesting how BB will spin it:-)

Yes, Her og Nu reported about it first in their magazine last week. BB as a weekly, will probably save such a story for the magazine, before putting it online.

I know, but H&N didn't know when they would arrive/go there. The local paper has now reported their arrival. That's why I posted the link.

If they arrived Monday, the pictures are probably from Monday or early Tuesday. Her og Nu hasn't got anything this week, but they also have an earlier deadline.

Sønderborg (close to Gråsten) - 'Dybbøl Banke Historic Center', museum about the 1864 battle/war
between Denmark and Germany
Friday the 10th
"I thought it would be a quiet day at the office while the men defended the fort and gave our many wonderful guests an unforgettable experience.
But then the phone rang, and it was from Gråsten Castle. About HRH The Crown Prince with family might come to visit - today?
They spent almost two hours together with our other guests with many stories and activities.
Our soldiers both fired their guns and demonstrated guns.
But the highlight was instead the visit to our photographer Claus (now royal court photographer), who made portraits of both children and adults all dressed in Danish in 1864 uniforms, and the story provided by Ditte on the dog Flora, who got a medal. It was not a dry eye. I was very proud of my fantastic employees!"

Poor Josephine:-( She broke her arm.

- Princess Josephine broke his arm in a riding accident in Gråsten on Sunday. She now has the arm in plaster and is well, says Lene Balleby

Like its custom in DK, people have already written messages on the plaster and she has also kept on the bracelet from the Hospital. She looks sweet in that picture, maybe even a little proud:-) Something to show of in Kindergarten after the summer holidays. Take that Vincent:-)
