Disclaimer

This message board is an unofficial discussion forum. It is not affiliated with the Danish Royal Court nor any member of the Danish Royal family. The message board is not a commercial venture. It makes no profit at all, and is managed on a volunteer basis. Individual members are responsible for the content they post.

We have sought to build a discussion forum based around reliable information in the media. Information is often skewed by vested interests, so we encourage our members to think critically about the veracity of what they find in the media and online, and learn to seperate opinion from fact.

We make use of information available on the world wide web and in the public domain for the purpose of our discussion, and give credit to original sources when they are known. We have no interest in intentionally breaching laws or violating regulations we are unaware of. If owners of original material are unhappy about it's use, we will be happy to delete it, if you let us know.

I'm new to the Board. What should I do?

It's a good idea to familiarise yourself with the Board Rules and see how others are behaving on this Message Board. We try to maintain an atmosphere where the members and the people being discussed are treated with respect. Remember that what works on another message board may not be welcome here. If you have questions, ask the Moderators via the Personal Message system (or click Report) or via private Email.

You could start by familiarising yourself with the topics that have already been posted. While you don't need to read everything that has been posted so far, you should at least get to know the board layout, so you can find things, and gain some idea of the content so that you don't start a new discussion that is already there. You are more than welcome to add to an older topic if you have something new to add. At a minimum, browse through each forum.

YOUR safety online

The message board is a gathering of many interesting people who share a common interest. An atmosphere of community has developed over time. It's very easy to feel as if fellow members you get to know on the board are friends you can trust. Unfortunately, not everyone is trustworthy. Please be careful. The Internet in general can be a dangerous place. You should be aware of this and make sure to protect yourself and your privacy.

Be careful of the personal information you post on the board. Revealing details like your age and where you live could be used in a harmful manner. Take advantage of the board's private message system. This allows you to keep your email address (and therefore IP address) private.

Please don't believe everything you read. Sometimes people pretend to be someone they are not. If you suspect someone you have met through the board is not exactly what they seem, please contact the board admin or a moderator and let us know your concerns.

There are a number of members who have met in real life. It's been wonderful to be a part of and hear about these encounters. However, if you would like to meet up with someone from the board and you are under 18 years of age, please let your parent or guardian know about this before meeting up with anyone. Even if you are over 18, it's good to let a friend know that you are going to meet up with someone you first met at a message board. It's also best to meet up in a group or in a populated place at first. You may meet a person online, but meeting someone in real life is different. And it's always best to be careful. As the saying goes, "It's better safe than sorry."
