gudinde
http://kongehuset.dk/menu/nyheder/bag-om-guldkareten The royal family's finest coach, the Gold State Coach, is used at the traditional New Year's reception in January, when the monarch is driven by coach from Amalienbirg to Christiansborg Palace. The Gold State Coach was built for Christian 8 by wheelwright Henry Fife in 1840 and is coated with 24-carat gold leaf, has four gold crowns on the roof and a painted coat of arms on the doors. The padded interior can accommodate two people. The Gold State Coach can be seen in the Royal Stables at Christiansborg Palace, which also houses a museum with a collection of historic royal state coaches and newer, light trolley types. The Carriage Museum illustrates the history of royal and elegant vehicle architecture in Denmark from the mid 1700s to the late 1800s.

Hannelore
Is this a repeat of last year's Prada gown (without the swarlowski "collar")? What's going on with the capes? Although she looks picture perfect, I don't think a relatively short cape goes well with the long gowns. Lovely to see that necklace again! Pammy
I think the necklace was last seen in 2010, at the concert and supper for representatives of Danish science and research, held at the Fredensborg Palace Chapel on October 26th, 2010: http://rs21.pbsrc.com/albums/b284/Fredum/Style/2010/2010-10-26bb.jpg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip

smt
I adore Mary's look today. Perhaps it's the jewel-tone color of the gown that suits her so well. She just looked "washed out" to me yesterday. JMHO. Also, I prefer the hairstyle she is using today.
