Prince Joachim and Princess Marie took part in a luncheon on 29 July on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Scandinavian Club Nordlyset and in a gala dinner on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Danish-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo:

Åbning af Den Danske Pavillon i Rio

The Crown Prince Couple and T.R.H. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie participate Tuesday, August 2,

2016 in the opening of the Danish Pavilion in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It is the Crown Prince, who conducts the opening of the Danish Pavilion in Rio de Janeiro, which during the Olympic Games is the setting for a Danish business promotion within the business, culture, sports and tourism.

Upon arrival, the Crown Prince couple, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie will be received by Jan Olsen,

CEO of VisitDenmark. During the opening ceremony, there will be speeches by Jan Olsen and Christian Maxe Petersen, Country Manager for LEGO Brazil, after which Crown Prince will cut the ribbon and thus officially open the Danish Pavilion. The Crown Prince Couple, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie will receive a tour of the pavilion exhibits, after which the royal family will visit LEGO pavilion, which the Crown Prince will open with Christian Maxe Petersen. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie will then participate in a bicycle parade at the Danish Pavilion, which will raise awareness about the Danish cycling culture. During the opening ceremony, there will be musical performances by DR Girls Choire.

The Danish Pavilion can be found on Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro and aims to strengthen international awareness of Denmark and generate interest for Danish solutions. The Danish Pavilion is open from 2-21st August, when there will be regular activities among other mini-concerts with Danish musicians, exhibition of

Danish products and pop-up events in bikes.

The Ministry of Business and Growth and VisitDenmark are behind the project in collaboration with among

others Industry Foundation, Nordea Foundation, Realdania and Grundfos.

"HRH The Crown Princess presents the Wednesday, August 3, 2016 LEGO boxes to EDI -

Institute for Child Development in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

When the Crown Princess symbolically hands over 5000 boxes of LEGOs to 300 Brazilian schools under

EDI - Institute for Child Development it is done as part of VisitDenmark and Ministry of Business and Growth

business promotion, which takes place in connection with the Olympic Games.

Upon arrival, the Crown Princess will be received by Jan Olsen, CEO of VisitDenmark, after the ceremony starts. There will be speeches by Jan Olsen and Helena Bonamy, Mayor of Education in Rio de Janeiro, after which the Crown Princess will present a LEGO box for a student. Crown Princess will then meet part of the students, who will talk about their experiences with LEGO. During the ceremony, there will be musical performances by DR Girls' Choir."
