Organiser Niels Holm said, "It clearly means a lot to people in the LGBT environment to receive recognition from official Denmark in this way." Crown Princess Mary previously hosted the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia in May 2016 in Copenhagen, inviting people to stand up against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
