Formålet med arrangementet er at diskutere kvindelige leders potentiale som rollemodeller, der opmuntrer og inspirerer kvinder og piger på et globalt plan. Ved arrangementet deltager EU-kommissær Margrethe Vestager, kulturminister Mette Bock og en række øvrige fremtrædende kvinder. Arrangementet foregår på udstillingsstedet House of Scandinavia, der er en pop-up lounge, som samler aktiviteter, der tager udgangspunkt i nordiske bæredygtige løsninger. Rundtur på SXSW festivalen Kl. 9.30 Kronprinsessen besøger ”South by Southwest” festivalen og får fremvist de danske bidrag og stande. Kronprinsessen vil blandt andet få forevist en dansk virtual reality-installation, kunstinstallationer kreeret af danske kunstnere og møde kuratoren for House of Scandinavia. Dansk Gastronomi - Skandinavisk Michelin madlavning Kl. 12.45 Kronprinsessen overværer madarrangementet ”Danish Gatronomy - A Michelin experience” ledet af den danske kok Kamilla Seidler. Arrangementet har fokus på dansk gastronomi, og de inviterede gæster får serveret retter, hvor bæredygtighed i udvælgelsen af ingredienserne er omdrejningspunktet . Møde med Texas' Guvernør Kl. 13.40 Kronprinsessen deltager i et møde med Texas' Guvernør Greg Abbot. Mødet foregår i Guvernørens bolig. Tow with the Flow - performance om mode og bæredygtighedKl. 14.35 Kronprinsessen overværer fremførelsen af performanceværket ”Tow with the Flow” og mødes med kunsteren bag. Værket har fokus på overforbrug og bæredygtighed i tøjproduktion og mode og består af 17 specialfremstillede dragter udarbejdet af det skandinaviske design studio Sur Le Chemin. Deltagelse i "JaJaJa x Roskilde Festival: Meet the Nordics" Kl. 16.40 Kronprinsessen deltager i ”Nordic Music Showcase”. Ved begivenheden præsenterer musikfestivalen Roskilde Festival fem nordiske bands, som festivalen mener har en stor chance for et musikalsk gennembrud i USA. Begivenheden foregår i House of Scandinavia, og Kronprinsessen holder åbningstale. Reception Kl. 20.00 Kronprinsessen deltager i en afsluttende reception i House of Scandinavia. Receptionen indeholder kulturelle indslag fra danske kulturinstitutioner, som deltager på festivalen South by Southwest. Tirsdag den 12. marts Møde med Houstons Borgmester Kl. 14.00 Kronprinsessen mødes med Houstons Borgmester Sylvester Turner på Houston City Hall. Lancering af samarbejde mellem Danmark og Houston Kl. 14.15 Kronprinsessen deltager ved lanceringen af et samarbejde mellem Danmark og Houston med fokus på byudvikling og klimatilpasning. Formålet med samarbejdet er at udveksle visioner, ideer og teknologier til bedre at kunne modstå klimaforandringer. Gallamiddag på Houston Museum of Fine Arts Kl. 19.00 Kronprinsessen deltager i en gallamiddag. Middagen finder sted på Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Onsdag den 13. marts Lanceringen af sundhedssamarbejde mellem Danmark og Texas Kl. 9.15 Kronprinsessen deltager i lanceringen af et sundhedssamarbejde mellem Danmark og Texas på Texas Medical Center, der er verdens største hospitalskompleks med mere end 100.000 ansatte og flere verdensførende behandlingsprogrammer. Ved begivenheden vil der være oplæg om samarbejdsmuligheder samt fælles strategiske interesser indenfor områderne digital sundhed, biotek og hospitalslogistik. "Dansk Energi Innovation" på energikonferencen CERAWeek Kl. 11.20 Kronprinsessen deltager i energikonferencen CERAWeek, hvor Danmarks førende energivirksomheder og forskere blandt andet skal diskutere fremtidens energiløsninger. CERAWeek har siden sin start i 1983 udviklet sig til en af verdens førende energikonferencer og har deltagelse af mere end 4.000 ledere og politiske beslutningstagere. Åbningen af udstillingen "Statecraft" på Houston Center for Contemporary Crafts Kl. 13.30 Kronprinsessen er til stede ved åbningen af udstillingen "Statecraft: Selections from the Jewelry Collection of the Danish Arts Foundation” på Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. ”Statecraft” repræsenterer et særligt kurateret udsnit af Statens Kunstfonds smykkesamling og er støttet af Statens Kunstfond. Udstillingen er det første af flere samarbejder mellem Houston Center for Contemporary Craft og Danmark. Udstillingen viser udviklingen i dansk smykkekunst fra midten af det 20. århundrede til i dag. There, The Crown Princess will first take part in a large Danish promotional campaign in Austin for the cultural and creative industries at the festival South by South West (SXSW). Afterwards, The Crown Princess travels to Houston, where Denmark and Danish businesses will show what they can offer to the American market in the areas of green energy and life science. Minister for Culture Mette Bock will accompany The Crown Princess. When The Crown Princess begins her visit in Texas, it will be at the festival SXSW in Austin, which is one of the world’s most important festivals for music, tech, film, gastronomy and arts. Every year, more than 280,000 people visit SXSW, and this year’s festival will have a distinctive Danish imprint. That will be on display when The Crown Princess leads a Danish culture promotional effort focused on Nordic values and competencies in the areas of innovation and the creative industries. At the festival, The Crown Princess will visit several of the Danish initiatives, which are gathered this year in the House of Scandinavia. The campaign is a part of a multi-year push to promote Danish culture in the USA backed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture. Last year, Her Royal Highness helped to launch the campaign, which will strengthen Danish arts and culture throughout the USA. At that time, the launch took place in Seattle, where The Crown Princess was a guest of honor and participated in the opening of the Nordic Museum together with representatives from the other Nordic countries. In the USA’s fourth-largest city, Houston, The Crown Princess will take part in several program items in which the theme is green energy and life science. Houston, which is known for oil, is now going through a readjustment with a focus on green energy, and, at a conference on green energy and Danish solutions to the world’s climate challenges, The Crown Princess will deliver a speech. Afterwards, The Crown Princess visits the world’s largest hospital complex with more than 100,000 employees. There, Her Royal Highness will help launch a collaborative effort in life science between Texas and Denmark.
