"In 2020 100 years has passed since Southern Jutland was reunited with Denmark. The 100th anniversary will be celebrated with events and activities throughout the country.

The centenary will start with an official opening event in Copenhagen on 10 January 2020. Also the dates of the two referenda in February and March will be given prominent positions in the programme. The events will culminate on 10-12 July 2020, where we commemorate the centenary of the historic days in 1920 when King Christian X rode across the border to Southern Jutland, which had now been reunited with Denmark."

https://genforeningen2020.dk/the-2020-commemoration/

"The Royal House looks forward to participating in both the anniversary and the closing anniversaries:
Her Majesty the Queen will attend the grand opening gala that the State invites to the Royal Theater on January 10 on the 100th anniversary of the Versailles Peace.

When the anniversary is officially rounded off in July 2020, exactly 100 years after King Christian X rode across the border to Southern Jutland and began his extensive and iconic visit to the reclaimed region, we do so with an extensive, popular and solemn celebration program in the seven south- and southern Jutland municipalities. Her Majesty the Queen and several members of the royal family will take part in this round-up, making it extra festive and visible. The program takes place from Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon 9-12. July.

The Royal Run starts in Southern Jutland
It will be in Southern Jutland that the Royal Run starts in 2020 and the race will be opened by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. The race will take place on the second day of Pentecost on June 1st."

Possible events in connection with CP Mary's patronage of Rare Diseases

I just noticed this year has a 29th of February, wich is the international Rare (Diseases) Day, on which the organisation hands out the Rare Disease Award.

I think there is a chance Mary will be back in Denmark at the end of this month for the Rare Day and perhaps more engagements. But we will see.

Also, on Friday, the 13th of March,  the Nordic Rare Disease Summit 2020 is held in Copenhagen. Perhaps another date in Mary's calendar?

Nordic Rare Disease Summit

:rose: According to the agenda: Opening address (video) by HRH Crown Princess Mary, patron.

Also a video greeting from Mary during the event on 29th February.

Not a single event was added to the DRF calendar this week, not for anyone. Remains to be seen what/if is added next week.

The school has a:

Half Term Holiday                    Monday 24 – Friday 28 February 2020

Could be Mary and the kids spend that 9 days in Denmark...?

I see, I didn't look into the details. Video messages ...that most likely means she won't be there in person at both events. Disappointing. IIRC the only Rare Day (I mean the real one which only happens every fourth year) she participated in personally was the one in 2008. In 2012 she was in Washington and in 2016 in Saudi-Arabia. This year she is in Swtizerland. Bad timing.

These dates have been edited three times now, haven’t they? ☺️ I guess the travel with Red Barnet for CP Frederik wasn’t official due to security and maybe planned in a short time.

Now I see they have edited the dates back to CP Frederik being regent until 9. March where he also has his last event until his next official event the 19. March (according to this weeks update). It gives Frederik 10 days where he can travel back to Mary and the kids in Switzerland.

Maybe Mary had the children with her during her visit in Denmark last week, but otherwise Frederik haven’t been in Switzerland for two weeks now, so it would be natural if that is the plan.

Interesting times ahead with this virus... Most of Princess Benedikte's events (or her attendance) have also been cancelled.

Could be it's the events which would have had a bigger number of participants.

8. June - CPM to attend the inauguration of 'Holmegaard Værk'.

https://www.museerne.dk/en/holmegaard-vaerk/

"Holmegaard Værk is Denmark's new hot spot for art-craftsmanship and tradition, where we tell the past as inspiration for the future. In the beautiful surroundings of South Zealand on the brink of Holmegaard Bog, the old Holmegaard Glassworks opens its doors into a world of design, art-craftsmanship and history. In a partnership between museum, municipality and the cultural life, we raise Danish design tradition to a level where it has not been since the 1950s and 1960s. "

Since the corona virus started this is the first time the court has official programme events in the calender again. Great.

At 8. juni it will be allowed to gather 30-50 people together i Denmark. So I guess, and as we can see with this calender update, we will see Frederik and Mary more from the 8. juni to events where they can cut down the people to 30-50.

No new official events published in the Danish royal calendar today.

On next Friday, 26. June, the Danish children, and therefore also Frederik’s and Mary's children, go on a 6 week long summer vacation.

Due to Covid19 all official events were canceled and for good reasons not many organisations have been able to arrange new ones with such short notice before the official summer holiday in Denmark. We know that unofficial events are very much expected these times and we know some are expected next week (the Mary Foundation's new film and Mary's speech at GlobalPride2020 etc.)

But I'm glad we got to see the Queen and the Crown Prince couple out at 'normal' official events before the summer vacation - I honestly admit I hadn't thought we would see much of them officially on this side of the summer vacation due to the extent of the coronavirus. Nice we did. There were some big official openings that needed to be opened as soon as it could succeed after being postponed again and again.

That said, it's been a weird year so far. We have been accustomed to seeing Frederik and Mary out at official (and unofficial) events almost every day during a year (except for the vacations) for so many years. At times it has been difficult to keep up with all their official events. So it has been weird and empty not to see them so often this first half of 2020 due to the 9 weeks of schooling abroad and then the whole pandamia afterwards.

I miss them (-;
