12:00 - 1:15 pm: Memorial service at the monument at Kastellet ( The Citadel) with wreath-laying, music and speeches.
2:30 - 3:45 pm : Service at Holmen's Church

The purpose of Flag Day is to honour individuals who are or have been sent on a mission by Denmark on the basis of a decision by the government

and includes personnel from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Armed Forces, Rescue Preparedness, Police and Health Services.

This year, the parade at Christiansborg has been cancelled.

Just watched a clip from the service in the tv news - it’s a important and toching Danish day, and F&M gave each other a very loving proud look when they walked down to lay down their wreath in honour to the Danes who are or have been sent on a mission by Denmark.

I think it might be an Emilia Wickstead coat dress. There is something similar in their AW20 collection. Probably custom made for Mary to suit the occasion. Just a hunch 🙂

Second event - Holmen's Church.

A lovely church, just across the road from Christiansborg. I visited it 2 years ago.
