Lolland International School is Denmark's first international primary school and will be an institution with an international environment for students with different backgrounds, cultures, nationalities and languages. "Principal Dominic Maher is himself from Australia - just like the Crown Princess, and when the two talked together, you could clearly hear the dialect from "down under". At the school, 19 different languages are spoken, but today's event took place in English and Danish - and that tone the Crown Princess quickly fell into. Mary thus asked questions in both Danish and English when she spoke to children and teachers.

- I would like to say a very special thank you to Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary, because you wanted to come and inaugurate our school today.

You yourself have an international background with English as your mother tongue. You have in the most beautiful way with your own story shown what it means to come to Denmark: To learn Danish and unite your original culture with an everyday life in Danish society. You are a great role model for the families we welcome to our new school today because you have shown them that anything is possible, said Mayor Holger Schou Rasmussen in his speech.

During the tour inside the school, the press was not present, but the Crown Princess enjoyed herself so much with the kids that the mayor and Dominic Maher had to nicely tell her that now the rest of the day's program was waiting, so they unfortunately had to leave the classrooms again.

- Thank you for allowing me to visit your wonderful school. You have a lovely school, Mary said to the kids, who with big eyes and happy smiles got to list some real princess hugs here and there on the trip around."
