HRH The Crown Prince will officially open WindEurope Electric City 2021 on 23 November, where representatives from the government of Denmark and a number of our neighboring countries will also participate. In addition, there are a number of senior decision-makers from the wind turbine sector.

The CEO of Wind Denmark is also helping to open the conference, and he states in this connection:

"It is incredibly gratifying that the Crown Prince has again chosen to be present at the conference and supports the important cause. His participation contributes to us being able to focus on the fact that in Denmark we have some of the leading companies in the wind sector.....

Royal gift for the Danish wind industry

- It's wonderful to be back and see so many famous faces who were also here two years ago. It shows me that there is a continuity and it is very important for networking and for friendships that can be strengthened since last. We are proud that Denmark and Copenhagen are hosting the world's most important wind event, because we call Denmark the birthplace of the modern wind industry, said Crown Prince Frederik from the rostrum.

He then spoke about the IPCC report released earlier this year on achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

- It requires an efficient and progressive transformation, and here companies play a key role, said Crown Prince Frederik and added that he himself has in the past month contributed to Danish business promotion in Germany and Iceland.

- Thanks to the wind industry, Denmark has positioned itself as a global green frontrunner. I am very proud that Denmark and our partner countries are establishing two energy islands - one in the Baltic Sea and one in the North Sea. It allows us to share our wind resources and supply the rest of Europe with affordable renewable energy. With the energy islands, we will contribute to European climate neutrality and show leadership in improving the most important technologies of the future. The challenge is enormous, but so is the potential, said Crown Prince Frederik.

Sounds like he gave a wonderful and informed speech!  He really should be given more visibility about his work with wind technology.  It is something he is passionate about, is very knowledgeable about and is most certainly timely and relevant.  Plus, it helps to put the DRF on the same level as other Royal Families that are making sustainability and climate change, etc. one of their big issues (it has been prominent in all the recent State visits we've seen).
