Thank you, Aus73 :haha:

Billed Bladet has a follow-up on that story. http://www.billedbladet.dk/Kongelige/Artic...20hundebid.aspx

The 24 years old conscript guardsman, who incidentally appeared in some reality show, recieced a slight bite by the dachshund Evita. He was (routinely) treated at the hospital.

He has afterwards explained that Prince Henrik personally apologised to him and gave him six bottles of wine.

The guardsman, Frederik Lilja said: "I really think the court has handled that in good style all the way".

The PR spokeswoman for the DRF, Lene Balleby, has said that measures will be taken in order to prevent such an incident happening again.

- Unfortunately it's far from the first time Evita has bitten someone and we have debated this before. I believe the dog ought to be put down. If the owner cannot or will not keep his dog under control, then too bad for dog. - In many such cases it's the owner who ought to be put down, that is however not an option....

Such repeated incidents are so annoying for myself as a dogowner, who actually try to keep our own family dog under control.

The DRF dogs are in a unique situation. The members of the DRF are immune form prosecution and as the incidents has taken place at the royal palaces, which at the same time a private homes and public buildings it's not a straightforward matter to deal with.

It's actually the Ministry of Defence who is responsible for the soldiers on duty if they are bitten by a royal dog.

However, the government agency (Arbejdstilsynet) which keep an eye of the safety on workplaces can issue a demand, directing that measures be set up to ensure the safety of the soldiers. A demand that MUST be obeyed! That could be building an enclosure for the dogs. - But the palaces are also private homes and the DRF are immune from such demands.... Are your heads starting to ache?

It's the same dog that's doing this over and over? And always to staff members? I remember thinking of the previous biting episode when watching a scene in the recent documentary where Pss Isabella was patting one of the daschunds. I don't think anyone would be taking things very calmly if, for example, she had been bitten.

The private home/official building conundrum does complicate things. But surely it can't be that big of a deal to just keep the dog away from unfamiliar people?

The problem is, as I think it is in most cases, down to the owner.

Prince Henrik could solve the problem by keeping Evita in an enclosure, fitting her with a muzzle if she has to run around freely or only letting her outside on a lead.

The problem with the guardsmen is that they rotate, so they all smell differently and are strangers.

Evita must be familiar with Isabella's smell.

Indeed Alexmary, but what are they doing? :SmilieHappy:

Some sort of French greeting? A mutual gesture telling each other something? A long-distance-kiss-on-cheek-because-my-pondus-is-too-well-developed-and-the-brim-of-your-hat-is-too-wide-for-us-to-physically-kiss-on-the-cheek?

Perhaps, Mattie. Or la Marie is informing Henrik that he has a garlic-burn on his cheek.

Anyway, things are a bit slow these days so here is an account from MSN Starlounge http://msndk.starlounge.com/index.cfm?objectid=89968

Telling about how our Marie and cheri Joachim went to the nightclub A Porta, which appear to be the place where the jetsetters go these days.

They were in company with, you guessed it, Oscar and Britt Siesbye. Dancing in the summer night between Saturday and Sunday.

Someone told Starlounge that they spend most of the evening on the dancefloor and when Joachim was out breathing through a cigarette, Britt and petite Marie danced with each other.

The mood was very good.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #30, 2010.

På job med svigermor - On the job with mother-in-law.

Written by Anna Johannesen.

La Marie and her Joachim accompanied the Regent Couple during the forenoon in Tønder.

Schackenborg is located in Tønder municipality and appropriatly the Marie and Joachim arrived a few minuttes before the Regent Couple.

And they greeted eachother with kisses on the cheek and curtsying, except for Henrik who gave our Marie a fingerkiss. (*)

All four of them went through the schedule of the forenoon together. Margrethe and Marie were observed chatting several times and as it the Monarch who decide how fast things go, she put the long leg in front and ended up at Hotel Tønderhus twenty minuttes before time, thus giving the royals some time alone before it was time for lunch. (**)

After lunch Marie and cheri Joachim left for Schackenborg and Bette Henrik.

Tønder is incidentally where J&M do their day to day shopping, when at Schakenborg.

After lunch the visit continued and it was pretty profittable. The Regent Couple were presented with a fruit dish in cherry-wood. Henrik got a pair of Ecco shoes and QMII got a birthday present in the shape of a broche, shaped as a marquerite in 14 carats white gold.

(*) One might get the idea that Prince Henrik abstained from kissing petite Marie on the cheek for fear of squashing her, due to his increased - volume. Perish the thought. :)

(**) And for some of the other guests to catch their breath. :D
