The Regent Couple, The Crown Princely Couple and Prince Joachim are received in parliament followed by a reception on the occasion of the 40-year jubilee of HM the Queen's reign.
H.M. The Queen celebrates 40-year jubilee as Denmark's monarch on 14 January 2012.
With Frederik IX's death on 14 January 1972 the throne passed to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II. The throne change was announced on 15 January 1972 from the balcony of Christiansborg Palace by Prime Minister Jens Otto Krag.
