    HRH The Crown Prince accompanies the President of the Republic of Korea during his visit in Greenland during the 9th-10th of September 2012
    "South Korean President H.E. Lee Myung-bak visits Ilulissat, Greenland, on 9-10th September 2012. The visit is a reaffirmation of the strategic partnership between Korea and Denmark and the increased interest in Greenland and the Arctic.
    At the invitation of the Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, and the foreman of Greenland's Naalakkersuisut, Premier Kuupik Kleist, the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Myung-bak, is visiting Ilulissat, Greenland, on 9-10th September 2012.
    In the strategic partnership agreement in May 2011, Denmark and the Republic of Korea expressed a desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including on issues related to the Arctic.
    Premier Kuupik Kleist is hosting the visit and HRH The Crown Prince will accompany President Lee Myung-bak during the visit with the Danish Environment Minister Ida Auken, who will represent the Danish government. The overall objective is to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership in the future.
    The program includes a trip to the glacier at Ilulissat and a meeting between President Lee, Environment Minister Auken and Premier Kleist. The trip to the glacier is arranged in the light of the cleantech and green growth agenda that is promoted by the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Denmark which is part of the strategic partnership between Korea and Denmark.
    Ilulissat is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and represents and symbolizes in many ways the effects of climate change. President Lee will see the effects of climate change in the Arctic with his own eyes.
    During the visit, a number of agreements between institutions in the respective countries to be signed. The agreements cover a wide range of topics of common interest, which reflects the excellent relationship between Denmark and the Republic of Korea."
