HRH The Crown Princess visits Greenland with Mary Foundation during the period 29th to 31st of August 2016 in conjunction with the conference "Domestic violence - a shared responsibility".
In Greenland, the Crown Princess opens the Mary Foundation conference "Domestic violence - a shared responsibility". The goal of the conference is to focus on violence and to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation. More than 170 professionals from all over Greenland participate in the conference, including staff from shelters, family centers and police.
The Mary Foundation project "Kattunneq - Greenland shelters" was established in 2014 and aims to strengthen efforts in the Greenlandic shelters through upgrading and cooperation. Behind the project is the Mary Foundation, Danner, Greenland shelters, Dandelion Center, Department of Family, Gender Equality, Social Affairs and Justice, as well as the OAK Foundation Denmark.
During the visit to Greenland the Crown Princess also holds a series of meetings with the Greenlandic partners and visits some of the Mary Foundation's other activities in Greenland. The Crown Princess will among other things visit a child care center working with anti-bullying program "Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying" and visit the Nuuk shelter where Mary Foundation awards backpacks for the children.
