From the ferry company, Samsø Rederi :

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Mary and Princess Isabella visit Samsø to baptize the island municipality's new ferry that sails daily between Sælvig, on Samsø and Hou on the Jylland peninsula. The royal visit takes place on Saturday, 6th of June, 2015 and begins at the harbour of Sælvig at 1:45 pm where the ferry PRINCESS ISABELLA will be baptized.
The ferry, which previously used liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuel, will now sail on locally produced biogas, and thereby become the world's first CO2 neutral ferry. The ferry has the capacity to carry 160 cars and 600 passengers.
Following the ferry christening the royal guests will visit some of the island's local companies, such as 'Samsø Bær' (Samsø Berry production) and experience Samsø's Nature School in Langøre with its unique location at Stavns Fjord.
All interested are welcome to come and witness the baptism of the ferry in Sælvig.
Here is the invitation:

Here's a BB article from a few weeks ago when this event was announced

http://www.billedbladet.dk/kongelige/danmark/prinsesse-isabella-skal-laegge-navn-til-samsoe-faergen

"Princess Isabella gives her name to Samsø's ferry"

Director of Samsoe Shipping said:

"It is a great honor to be able to name the ship after one of the royals. It is not something that happens every day, and it's a great thing for the island"

Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Prince Joachim and Queen Ingrid have also lent their names to Danish ferries. If I remember correctly, there was an SAS aircraft named after Prince Christian when he was a baby.

2 short BB articles online in preparation for the day:

"Princess Isabella's wild day on Samsø"

"Princess Isabella [the ferry] waits for Princess Isabella [the princess]"

A few details:

CP Mary and Princess Isabella have a busy day planned for them on the island of Samsø, where a ferry is to be baptized and the island's wild nature to be explored.

The princesses will be received by the island's Dutch-born mayor Marcel Meijer.

The baptism process is set up so that the princess cuts a string, sending a bottle of blackcurrant juice to be crushed against the ship's side. The juice is a locally made product.

There will be a tour of the ferry followed by a gift presentation in the harbour square.

Next on the agenda is the visit to 'Samsø Bær' (Samsø Berry production) where there is an opportunity to pick strawberries.

The island visit then moves to Samsø's Nature School,

where the royals will experience a taste of Samsø's wild nature with eagles, owls and falcons. There is the opportunity to hike amidst sheep, rams and lambs, and the royal guests will be shown to the fjord to look into shrimp fishing.

A very detailed little report from BB:

As soon as the princesses stepped out of the car, they were treated like a rock stars, says BB. The crowd called and cheered with joy, and Crown Princess Mary and Isabella took the time to greet the people before they went to the dock, where the baptism was to take place.

During the mayor's speech Princess Isabella anxiously stood beside her proud mother waiting with her delicate bouquet of flowers in her hand.

CP Mary asked "Should I hold your flowers," so Isabella's hands were free to use scissors to cut the string.

As Isabella cut the string the bottle of Samsø blackcurrant juice sped toward the ship and smashed to pieces, as planned.

The rest of the article repeats the details already posted above.

"Isabella and Mary picked strawberries on Samsø"

"There will surely be fresh strawberries served at Amalienborg tonight - strawberries Princess Isabella and Crown Princess Mary have picked, in fact ...

... A box, containing the trays filled with royal-pick-yourself strawberries was put into the trunk of the royal car."

And a video from TV2 Nyhederne. They decided to show a bit more than just the ferry christening, which is probably what the Samsø people also hoped for:-)
