Article about a section re PH's death appearing in another biography of the QMII to be published shortly.  This seems to be a different book than the one coming out I believe tomorrow.

Prince Henrik became ill long before the public was informed. And it was hard for the Queen, reveals her close friend in a new book.

‘It was some really hard years for her and I think it was lonely for her in the end. People who have had a demented spouse know that it is deadly and debilitating. But she never complained. "

Posting this here too about I think the one based on 14 interviews she gave.

So far I believe there are 2 or 3 books out in anticipation of the 50th jubilee.

"Her Majesty the Queen marks her 50th golden jubilee in January 2022. We at Gardernetværk have been thinking about what we could come up with to give the Queen as a suitable gift.

During this process, we became aware that there was a great desire to establish a new guard building at Marselisborg Palace. When we heard from several of our younger members that it was a worn out (and ugly) building, it was right for Gardernetværk to be in charge of raising money so that the old building could be replaced with a new one."

The current (pretty ugly) building                                  The new one

Put this here since it references the 50th jubilee:

28 NOVEMBER 2021 | PROGRAM POINT - HM The Queen participates in a high mass on the occasion of the staging of the "Queens' antependium" in Roskilde Cathedral

HM The Queen participates in a high mass on the occasion of the staging of the "Queens' antependium" in Roskilde Cathedral. Roskilde Cathedral, at 10.00.

From one of the books - About Else Petersen, Frederik and Joachim's nanny.

"In ‘Undervejs - erindringer 1940 - 1972’, Her Majesty gratefully tells about Else, who lived on the top floor of Christian IX's Palace for almost 25 years.

- The boys lived up on the mezzanine floor with their wonderful nanny, Miss Petersen, or just Else, as we called her. She took care of the boys until they moved away from home.

Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim were almost completely left to Else Petersen. - She made sure they got up in the morning, got them in their clothes and gave them breakfast. It happened that the boys in the morning came down to us, and that I - as my father in his time - gave them a coffee fish (a sugar lump dipped in coffee, ed.) Usually, however, I saw them mostly in the evening, before my husband and I had dinner, which we did quite late - always at 8 pm. I still do. The boys, on the other hand, had dinner by themselves 6 p.m. Afterwards, they typically came down when I was resting before dinner, and crawled up to me in bed.

- It was a great joy to have the two little boys, but I must also admit that I was not an effective mother of small children. I was - and am - not particularly good with young children and maybe children at all. I do not quite know why. Some are, others less, she says honestly in the memoir."

Just read that it appears the new Covid strain has hit Denmark as cases continue to pop out throughout Europe.  At this point it will be somewhat of a waiting game too see if the events for the jubilee are modified in some way or cancelled depending on the status of things as the date gets closer and what the health experts say.
