Silja Schandorff is such a talented dancer. I have followed her since way back. Such a joy to watch her on stage

QM II is wearing a beautiful multi-coloured scarf, and has a lovely bouquet of spring flowers. PG Henrik has a rather dapper coat, matching gloves and a multi-coloured scarf.

The beautiful glowing, glimmering, shimmering, chandelier in the background seems rather hyggelig.

Thanks aus73

I'll add this conversation from another part of the board

On Wednesday, we shall see QMII, PG Henrik, CP Frederik, CPss Mary with perhaps P Christian and Pss Isabella at the Fakkeltog at Fredensborg Slot and on Thursday, we shall see QMII, PG Henrik, CP Frederik, CPss Mary, P Christian, Pss Isabella, P Joachim and Pss Marie at Amalienborg slot.

Fakkeltog ?

My Danish is getting better-fakkel=torch and tog=parade. In English we might say 'candelight procession'. Danish members-please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this procession is part of a tradition to 'light the way of the Queen and her family when they come to Marselisborg

You're on the right track, Caroline, but it's not at Marselisborg.

Fakkeltog, the torchlight procession, is held at Fredensborg.

Each year, when Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik move back to their summer residence (Fredensborg Palace) in Spring the local residents hold a torchlight procession to bid them welcome. The residents, local scouts group, and music corps process by torchlight from the railway station in the town to the inner palace courtyard, where there is music from the town orchestra, welcome speech from the Mayor and the local townsfolk sing ”Der er et yndigt Land”. Locals say that Spring really starts when the Queen moves back to Fredensborg.

This is usually an event for the Regent Couple, not the Crown Prince Couple, as they live at Fredensborg all year they don't need to be welcomed back. In past years, if Prince Henrik is away, Frederik and Mary joined the Queen, or when Frederik was in Greenland in 2005 the Queen asked Mary to join Prince Henrik and herself for Fakkeltog.

Helsingør Dagblad has this article about last night's torchlight procession
