HM The Queen holds a reception for the Danish athletes who participated in the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Their Royal Highnesses the Crown Prince and Crown Princess, TRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie and HRH Princess Benedikte participate.

Crown Prince Frederik's attendance at this event had to be cancelled when he sustained an injury to his cervical spine in a trampolining accident on Thursday 13th of October.
The Crown Princely Couple's elder two children Prince Christian and Princess Isabella accompanied their mother to the event in their father's stead.

HRH The Crown Prince injured
HRH The Crown Prince suffered yesterday afternoon a fracture of the cervical spine associated with trampolining at a private event in a gymnasium. The fracture is being treated with a neck collar that the Crown Prince should wear for about 12 weeks. Thereafter, the Crown Prince is expected to be fully recovered.
Because of the accident the Crown Prince willt not be able to come to the reception today at Christiansborg Palace for the Danish athletes of the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games.
The Crown Prince said:
"Naturally I am sorry not to be able to participate at the reception today. I had been looking forward to celebrating the Danish athletes great historical achievement in Rio. I wish the participants a good day at Christiansborg."
At present, it is not expected that the accident will have implications for the Crown Prince's official activities.
