H. M. The Queen, The Crown Prince Couple, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte attend the opening of Parliament at Christiansborg Palace.
Every year on the first Tuesday in October is the Danish Opening of Parliament, which the Queen and the royal family attends, viewing the proceedings from the royal box in the Parliament Hall at Christiansborg Palace. At the opening the Parliament elects a chairman and four vice-presidents, and the Prime Minister delivers
a keynote speech.
