26. januar D.K.H. Kronprinsen og Kronprinsessen besøger EU's Rådsbygning Justus Lipsius i Bruxelles og deltager i officiel åbningskoncert i anledning af Danmarks overtagelse af EU-formandskabet kl. 16.45.
Torsdag den 26. januar 2012 markeres det officielt i Bruxelles, at Danmark har overtaget formandskab for Rådet for Den Europæiske Union.
Kronprinsparret er til stede ved i åbningskoncerten, der også har deltagelse af det belgiske Kronprinspar.
Ved koncerten underholder DR Big Band akkompagneret af vokalsolist Sinne Eeg og trompetsolist Gerard Presencer. Europaminister Nicolai Wammen byder velkommen.
Kronprinsparret vil tidligere på dagen også besigtige den kunstneriske udsmykning i rådsbygningen Justus Lipsius, som formandslandet traditionelt udsmykker for en seks måneders periode. Den danske udsmykning fremviser en blanding af etablerede designikoner og værker fra den yngste generation af danske kunstnere.
Visit to Brussels for opening of Denmark's Presidency of EU

TRH The Crown Prince and Crown Princess visit EU Council Building Justus Lipsius in Brussels and participate in the official opening concert on the occasion of Denmark's takeover of EU Presidency.
Thursday, 26 January 2012 marks the official start date in Brussels of Denmark assuming the presidency of the European Union.
The (Danish) Crown Princely Couple is present at the opening concert, which also has the participation of the Belgian Crown Princely Couple.
The concert includes entertainment by the DR Big Band accompanied by vocal soloist Sinne Eeg and trumpet soloist Gerard Presencer. Europe Minister Nicolai Wammen makes the welcome address.
Earlier in the day the Crown Princely Couple will visit the Danish exhibition in the Council building Justus Lipsius, which the rotating presidency traditionally decorates during the six months as President of the Council. The exhibition displays a mix of established design icons and pieces by the youngest generation of Danish artists.
