"The Nordic Summit on Mental Health focuses on the service for people with mental disorders, and to create
the framework for knowledge and experience exchange between the Nordic countries"
Background:
"All the Nordic countries have challenges in improving the mental health of society. That applies when it comes to people with mental disorders, when dealing with prevention and early intervention, and when dealing with social perceptions of mental disorders.
Therefore, the Icelandic presidency in 2014 focused on the mental health through both a conference and a meeting of experts. The Danish Presidency is set on continuing this effort. Mental disorders affect a lot of people and have major implications for individuals, families, friends and other relatives, but just as with physical diseases, it is possible to recover.
Therefore, the Danish Presidency has taken the initiative to host the first Nordic Summit on Mental Health on November 6th 2015. Here Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic and Finnish researchers, specialists, experts, users, relatives, politicians and ministers are invited to discuss how to improve the conditions for people with mental disorders, and how to overcomethe stigma concerning mental disorders."
