H.K.H. Kronprinsen overværer 14. juni åbningskampen i Danmarks pulje, Danmark-Holland i Johannesburg, og åbner 15. juni sundhedsprojektet "Smart Living – Teenage Diabetes Awareness through Sport and Healthy Nutrition" i et township i Daveyton, som ligger i udkanten af Johannesburg. Diabetes udgør et stigende problem i Sydafrika, og rammer både rige og fattige. Projektet i Daveyton sætter fokus på, hvordan man gennem sport og en sundere livsstil kan forebygge og kontrollere sygdommen. Projektet er finansieret af den Kongelige Danske Ambassade i Pretoria og World Diabetes Foundation og gennemføres af NGO'en Daveyton Environmental Youth Councel og den Sydafrikanske Diabetes Forening.

HRH The Crown Prince attends the opening competition in Denmark's pool, Denmark vs Netherlands in Johannesburg on 14th of June and will open the health project "Smart Living - Teenage Diabetes Awareness through Sport and Healthy Nutrition" on 15th June in a township in Daveyton, located on the outskirts of Johannesburg. Diabetes is a growing problem in South Africa, and affects both rich and poor. The project in Daveyton highlights how, through sport and a healthier lifestyle the disease can be controlled or prevented. The project is funded by the Royal Danish Embassy in Pretoria and the World Diabetes Foundation and implemented by the Non Government Organization Daveyton Environmental Youth Counsel and the South African Diabetes Association.
