After consultation with Rigshospitalet’s specialists, The Queen has decided to undergo extensive surgery. The operation is planned for Wednesday, 22 February at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, where The Queen will thus also be hospitalized afterwards. Consequently, a longer sequence of physical rehabilitation is expected. The Queen is now staying at Amalienborg. The medical team responsible for the operation and the subsequent hospitalization is satisfied with the process and with the Queen's condition. A longer rehabilitation process now awaits, which could extend over the next few months. His Royal Highness The Crown Prince will continue to be regent for the time being. The Queen expresses her great gratitude for the professional and good treatment that the Queen has received during her admission to Rigshospitalet.
