Royal Run Copenhagen/Frederiksberg

"When Royal Run takes place in Denmark on June 10, the event culminates with the finishing line at Amalienborg Square.

It is the first time that permission has been granted for Amalienborg to be involved in an event of a similar nature."

"The event is organized so that everyone can participate. Athletes or ambitious runners can compete as well as children, families, elderly and those with a handicap can enjoy some fun competition or they can even choose to walk the distances and enjoy the festive celebration in the streets.

The Crown Prince is patron of “Move for Life”, which is a shared vision by The National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark and DGI with the goal to make Denmark the most active nation in the world. A vision, which is supported by Nordea-Fonden and TrygFonden.»

" With three months to start Royal Run is already up to 70,580 registrations and thus already bigger than last year."

Of the 70,580 Royal Runners, it is noteworthy that just under a third are new runners. The large part proves that the concept of Royal Run,

where the participants can both choose to run or walk on short or long distances, gives the opportunity to lace the shoes, whether they have experience with running or not"

But now Crown Prince Frederik and the Danes have beaten the British Vitality Westminster race with more than twice as many enrolled in the capital.
17,021 Danes have already signed up to run 1.6 kilometers in the capital"

Press release from the court:

http://kongehuset.dk/nyheder/hkh-kronprinsen-har-faaet-konstateret-en-diskusprolaps

"HRH The Crown Prince has been diagnosed with a small herniated disc, this time on the left side. Even though it  is a minor damage,

the Crown Prince runs the risk of worsening the condition if he runs at 10km distances in this year's Royal Run.

The Crown Prince will continue to be part of "One mile - Family" in Aarhus, where young and old together walk the short distance.
The Crown Prince will also be present during the races on both the Faroe Islands and in Copenhagen."
