Arrival at Cementerio Recoleta

The Queen is shown around the historic cemetery called Cementerio de la Recoleta. Previously, the cemetery has been named as one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world, and more than 90 of the cemetery’s gravesites are now historical monuments.

The Queen takes part in a dinner with the Danish ambassador, Søren Vøhtz, and his wife, Mrs.Sofia Vøhtz Rosenbaum. 

 

 

Monday, 18 March


Wreath laying ceremony at Plaza San Martín 
12.00

The Queen and The Crown Prince participate in a wreath laying ceremony at Plaza San Martín by the monument for the national hero José de San Martín. In Argentina, General San Martín is a symbol of Argentina’s independence and the civil rights of the Argentinian people.

The Queen and The Crown Prince are received by HE The President of Argentina Mauricio Marci and First Lady Juliana Awada at the Presidential Palace.

The Queen and The Crown Prince participate in an official state luncheon at the Presidential Palace.

Visit at Argentina’s National Congress

The Queen and The Crown Prince visit Palacio del Congreso. The visit will consist of a tour of the Congress and a conversation with the legislature’s Denmark friendship group.

The Queen visits Argentina’s Supreme Court, where the Supreme Court’s president will present the institution. 

Visit at the energy conference YPF
16.00

The Crown Prince visits the energy conference YPF, accompanied by environment and food minister Jakob Elleman-Jensen. YPF is one of Argentina’s most important energy companies and in recent years has begun a green transition. The Crown Prince’s visit is the start of a cooperative effort between YPF and Danish energy companies.

Tuesday, 19 March


Business conference at Kirchner Cultural Centre

The Crown Prince attends the opening of a business conference with Danish and Argentinian companies. Among other things, The Crown Prince will attend the signing of a cooperative agreement between Danish and Argentinian media as well as a panel debate.

The Crown Prince takes part in the business conference’s networking luncheon with Danish and Argentinian companies.

Visit at Hogar Danés (The Danish House)

The Queen visits the Danish senior living center Hogar Danés. There, The Queen will meet and speak with a number of Argentinians who have Danish ancestry. The Danish House was founded in May 1996 and belongs under the Danish Church in Buenos Aires. The ground where the home was built was donated in 1944 by a Danish family.

The Queen visits the opera house Teatro Colón, which is among the best opera houses in the world. During the visit, The Queen will be introduced to the theater’s history and observe a ballet masterclass. Afterwards, The Queen will see the opera house’s current scenography for the opera Rigoletto.

The Crown Prince is shown around at “Estadio Alberto J. Armando” and visits the projects “Powerchair Football Argentina” and “Social Development Goals Football”. The visit highlights Denmark’s and Argentina’s joint interest in the work with sport as a tool for inclusion.

Wednesday,  20 March 


Visit at the wind farm PEPE II

The Crown Prince visits the newly built wind farm PEPE II. 

Welcome at the Juan Fugl statue
10.00

The queen is welcomed in the city Tandil and visits the statue of the Dane Juan Fugl, who emigrated to Argentina in 1844. Hans Christensen Fugl was one of the pioneers in the founding of the city Tandil, where one of the first Danish colonies in Argentina was established and subsequently grew and spread out to the surrounding areas.

The Queen visits the Danish church in Tandil, where Her Majesty gets the opportunity to speak with persons from the four Danish congregations in Buenos Aires, Tres Arroyos, Necochea and Tandil.
