Visit at Indonesia Midwives Association
8:00 am

The Crown Princess and UNFPA Executive Director Natalia Kanem visit the Indonesian association for midwives. In connection with the visit, there will be a dialogue about female circumcision, which, despite being illegal, is still practiced because of traditions and religious interpretations, among other things. UNFPA supports efforts in Indonesia for both education of midwives and dissemination of information about female circumcision. Among other things, the organization helps to upgrade the training curriculum for midwives and is in dialogue with religious leaders about erroneous connections between circumcision of girls and Islam.

 

Dialogue about gender-based violence and humanitarian crisis management
10:00 am

The Crown Princess takes part in a dialogue with the Indonesian health authorities and the organization National Commission for Violence against Women. The organization devotes itself to the basic rights of Indonesian women, especially with regard to all forms of violence against women.

 

Mobile health clinic visit
3:30 pm

The Crown Princess, development cooperation minister Rasmus Prehn and UNFPA Executive Director Natalia Kanem visit the café Peacumber Coffee, where an example of a mobile health clinic is set up. The mobile clinics are one of UNFPA’s initiatives for the benefit of access to contraception in Indonesia. The sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls and women are recognized, but contraception is not offered to unmarried women and to married women who do not have permission from their husbands. The clinics offer free access to information, health services and contraception. At the Peacumber Coffee mobile clinic, The Crown Princess takes part in a dialogue about SRHR information targeted at young people.

  

Celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Indonesia
7:00 pm

The Crown Princess participates in and speaks at the launch of the celebration of the two countries’ diplomatic relations. In connection with the arrangement, the logo for the official celebration will be presented, and Her Royal Highness, together with development cooperation minister Rasmus Prehn and UNFPA Executive Director Natalia Kanem, will attend a Danish-Indonesian ballet and be offered a Danish-Indonesian menu.
