On 14 October 2021, HRH The Crown Prince takes part in the presentation of the overall route for Tour de France 2022, which begins in Denmark next year.

In the French capital, The Crown Prince will also lead a Danish business delegation of companies that work with health, cycling and sustainability.

Together with minister for industry, business and financial affairs Simon Kollerup and mayors from the five Danish finish and start cities, The Crown Prince will be present in Paris when tour director Christian Prudhomme unveils the complete route for Tour de France 2022, of which the first three stages will take place in Denmark the days of 1-3 July 2022 under the banner “Grand Départ Copenhagen Denmark”.

The presentation focuses on Denmark and the special Danish cycling culture that is well-known throughout the world. After the route presentation, The Crown Prince’s visit in Paris will continue, among other places, at the House of Denmark on the Champs-Élysées, where the Confederation of Danish Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs host a business promotional campaign that will focus on the cycling infrastructure in Copenhagen and Danish gastronomy.

In 2022, the Tour de France starts with a 13-kilometer individual time trial in Copenhagen. The second stage goes from Roskilde over the Storebælt Bridge to Nyborg, and the third stage continues on from Vejle to Sønderborg. In all, 394 kilometers of the cycling race will traverse Danish soil. The Tour de France is the world’s biggest bicycle race, and it’s the first time that parts of the route will wind through Denmark.

"When next year's Tour de France route is unveiled today at a large-scale event in Paris, it will be with the participation of professor and head of department Jens Troelsen from the Department of Sport and Biomechanics at the University of Southern Denmark.

Jens Troelsen is part of a Danish delegation with H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik and Minister of Trade and Industry Simon Kollerup at the helm. After the route presentation, they participate at an event at Maison du Danemark on the Champs-Élysées, which focuses on a healthy lifestyle, food enjoyment and cycling culture.

The reason is, of course, that in July 2022, Denmark will host ‘Le Grand Depart’. The world's most famous bicycle race begins with a single start in the streets of Copenhagen, which are visited daily by many thousands of cyclists who use the bicycle as a means of transport to and from work, studies and day care institutions."

"City of Copenhagen's city architect Camilla Van Deurs also participates in the event to talk about how Copenhagen actively works with cycling as an integrated mode of transport and with promoting cycling with supportive urban planning and management.

The business promotion in Mason du Danemark on the Champs Elysées aims to inspire the invited guests by showing how a healthy lifestyle, food enjoyment and gastronomy are closely linked to the approach we in Denmark have to cycling and sustainability. Among the guests will be a number of French mayors; among others David Belliard, who is Paris ’mayor for‘ transformation of public spaces and mobility ’.

Confederation of Danish Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with VisitDenmark and Food Nation, are hosting the business promotion."

On the famous Champs-Élysées in Paris is the Maison du Danemark, which since 1955 has promoted Danish cultural and social life in France. Today, the house formed the framework for a Danish business venture, in which His Royal Highness the Crown Prince participated and which was arranged by Danish Industry in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, VisitDenmark and Food Nation.

The participating companies represented everything from Danish gastronomy and health to cycling infrastructure on the occasion of the official route presentation for the Tour de France 2022, in which the Crown Prince participated earlier today.

In connection with the business promotion, His Royal Highness had the opportunity to greet, among others, cyclists Cecilie Uttrup and Jakob Fuglsang as well as Paris' mayor of transformation of public spaces and mobility David Belliard, who was present at Danmarkshuset to hear about Danish cycling culture and infrastructure by, among others, Copenhagen's city architect Camilla van Deurs.

Visit to International Energy Agency

At the end of two days of green business promotion in Iceland and a day focusing on Danish cycling culture and sustainability in Paris, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince visited the International Energy Agency in France (IEA) this afternoon.

The IEA is a global organization that maintains data and statistics on the planet's energy supply and works for energy efficiency, security and green transition in the organization's 30 member states with the aim of a climate-neutral world by 2050.

The picture shows the Crown Prince together with the executive director of the IEA Dr. Fatih Birol.

In Denmark, food experiences are much more than ingredients and what is on the plate. Yesterday when the official route for Tour de France Grand Depart 2022 was presented in the heart of Paris, HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, the Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Simon Kollerup and Thomas Bustrup joined us for a unique gastronomic dining experience with the Danish “bike chef” (Cykelkokken) 🇫🇷

Together with DI - Dansk Industri, Embassy of Denmark in France and VisitDenmark, we highlighted how Danish gastronomy and sustainability are closely linked to cycling, which is a central part of the Danes' everyday life 🚴‍♂️
