On Monday, Crown Princess Mary supported a very special arrangement in Aarhus, which is undoubtedly close to her heart. Thus, as patron of the Danish Heart Foundation, she participated in the opening of the newly established scheme for patient support for heart patients at Aarhus University Hospital. At the age of 25, Crown Princess Mary lost her mother, Henrietta Donaldson, who had heart problems and died in connection with heart surgery in 1997. The Crown Princess was given a small tour of the cardiac department at Aarhus University Hospital and witnessed a conversation between a patient and two patient supporters, just as at a subsequent session she congratulated the people behind the new scheme on the initiative.
