DI= Confederation of Danish Industry

"- We are extremely excited that HRH Crown Princess Mary is participating in perhaps the most spectacular Danish export promotion ever. The "This is Denmark" exhibition is something completely unique, combining less innovative companies and Danish design classics - and it is all curated based on the Danish landscape. I guarantee that all the visitors will remember the Danish exhibition, and the crown princess's participation will attract the right professionals and journalists, says Thomas Bustrup, deputy CEO. director of DI"

During Design Week in Milan, there are more than 400,000 visitors.

- Still, there are not many other events in the world where the battle for visibility is similarly tough. HRH Crown Princess Mary gives this export promotion invaluable help in promoting Danish design companies, says Thomas Bustrup."

Billed Bladet's coverage of Mary's day in Milan has been really bad. There was a time when a reporter actually would have travelled to Milan.

The coverage is abysmal.  The DRF IG hasn't even posted re the dinner. Isn't the purpose of these trips to bring attention to DK?  Isn't that why they send Mary too?  For press coverage.  What's the point of sending her if the press won't cover it.  Where's the ROI?  Just send the minister then.

It makes zero sense to me tbh. The DRF communications department should have people that will travel with them on trips and to engagements to document the visit in real time with photos and video.  I would have liked to actually see and hear Mary's speech...not read s transcript of it.

And, the Danish Ambassador to Italy hasn't said a peep on his twitter...

If you want to see how proper coverage is done of a visit to Milan Design Week, check out the Netherlands thread.  Queen Maxima is there today and their social media has provided more coverage in a few hours than the DRF did all day for Mary's events.  They've posted photos and videos.  Oh and the Dutch Ambassador to Italy has already made 3 Twitter posts about Queen Maxima being at Milan Design Week.  One thing surely is not like the other.
