Kronprinsessen og Kristian Jensen på Lolland: Sætter fokus på verdens 10-årige piger

google trans:

"HRH The Crown Princess and Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen visit today a school in Rodby, Lolland. Here they focus on the situation of the 10-year-old girls - and do a tug of war with the local 10-year-olds.

"The struggle to create better conditions for girls is one of Denmark's top priorities. It applies to 10-year-old girls, no matter if

they live in Libya or on Lolland. This is their right to education, jobs, health. And it applies to their right to decide when and with whom they want to marry and have children, "said Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen.

The visit to the Southern School Rodby takes place in connection with the launch of the annual "State of the World Population Report" from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which this year focuses on 10-year-old girls.

The report says among other things, forced marriages, child labor and girl circumcision threatens girls' health and rights. When a girl is 10 years old and is approaching puberty, she will in some parts of the world find that the options open to her with youth, education and jobs. Elsewhere she will be considered a possession that can be bought, sold, or bartered away.

"There has been great progress worldwide. Not least in relation to getting girls to school. But it goes so well with fighting among other forced marriages, child labor and circumcision of girls. We have focused on in Denmark's development cooperation, "says Kristian Jensen.

The Foreign Minister, Crown Princess and UNFPA provides the 128 students from 3rd to 4th class an introduction to children's lives, conditions, rights of the 17 World Goals and Denmark's development cooperation. But in addition, students will also be making tug of war with the Crown Princess and Kristian Jensen. There are hopscotch and stop dancing on the program, and Kristian Jensen will try his hand at a dizzy goal where the ball must be shot into the net after a spin on the 13 laps.

The Crown Princess is patron of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), working for a world where every pregnancy is wanted, where every birth is safe, and where all young people to realize their full potential."
