mls Posted May 5 Author Report Share Posted May 5 PROGRAM Monday 6 May Welcome ceremony at Skeppsbron and the Royal Palace 10:45 am TM The King and Queen arrive sailing on the Vasa Order accompanied by HRH Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden to Skeppsbron Bridge at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, where the Regent Couple are welcomed by TM King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden. On arrival at Skeppsbron, the King and the King of Sweden will inspect a grenadier company from the Swedish Life Guards, after which the two regent couples will stroll to the Royal Palace. In the Rikssalen at the Royal Palace, the King and Queen are presented to representatives of the Riksdagen, the Swedish government and official Sweden. The regent couple will also greet the Swedish delegation. Lunch at the Royal Palace 12:00 Noon The Regent Couple attends a lunch at the Royal Palace with the Regent Couple of Sweden as hosts. Meeting with the speaker of the Riksdag 1:45 pm The Regent Couple visits Sweden's Riksdag and participate in a meeting with Riksdag Speaker Andreas Norlén. Meeting with the Prime Minister 2:35 pm Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson welcomes the Regent Couple at the Rosenbad building, which houses, among other things, the Prime Minister's Office. Visit to the Royal Institute of Technology 3:30 pm The Regent Couple visits the Royal Institute of Technology together with the Swedish Regent Couple. On arrival, the Regent Couple will be received by Sweden's education minister Lotta Edholm and principal Anders Söderholm. Kungliga Tekniske Högskolan is Sweden's largest technical university with over 13,000 students in engineering and technology. The visit to the Royal Institute of Technology puts the focus on space research and green transition. During the visit, Minister of Education Lotta Edholm and Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen will give speeches, after which the two Regent Couples will attend the panel debate "Space technology as a Driver for Sustainable Transformation" with the participation of astronaut Andreas Mogensen and the two Swedish astronauts Christer Fuglesang and Marcus Wandt. Gala dinner at the Royal Palace 7:30 pm The Regent Couple participates in a gala dinner at the Royal Palace hosted by Sweden's Regent Couple. I was just coming back to say that I saw him wearing the star of the Swedish order which was very prominently displayed as the first star on his military uniform. By the way...well done King Frederik on his speech! Fantastic performance! Also saw Queen Mary matching King Frederik's military colors in navy and white! First state visit...was looking for a new outfit with color especially with Queen Silvia in red and Crown Princess Victoria in the pink/rose. Mary 'disappears' IMO. Also, don't like the hat.
