It is the highest order outside the Order of Charless III (Reserved for Heads of State) and the Order of Golden Fleece (dynastic order). (Also, Joachim and Marie have also been awarded the Order of Merit (one step lower) which means that they may be attending the state visit as well). https://www.boe.es/boe/dias/2023/10/30/pdfs/BOE-A-2023-22192.pdf My suggestion for anyone wanting actual good coverage of this state visit is to follow the Spanish RF's social media ("X" and especially their YouTube channel). Rely on that for video and photos actually posted in as "real time" as possible. And especially for those wanting to actually see Mary and Frederik get their events covered. Fingers crossed that optics don't impede proper coverage of them during this visit. Hope those following it enjoy the visit. About time Denmark participated in a State Visit of any kind. Hopefully for those that enjoy them there will be a slew of incoming ones because outgoing state visits may be few in the long-range future given various issues. It could be all about good friends catching up and be perfectly platonic but I tend to be a bit naive sometimes when it comes to these sort of relationships. Very odd to be seen so publicly. The same goes for women... I have, however, no intention of jumping to conclusions based on the Spanish press. This friend was ill, so that blonde lady, Genoveva Casanova (who is an expert in art) was asked to replace him/her.
