Members of the Danish Royal Family has been patrons of the Danish Red Cross since 1877. The first one was King Christian 9th. Queen Ingrid was patron 1972-2000. The Crown Prince has pledged to participate in the official launch of the HCØ2020 celebration when the Crown Prince, at a grand opening event on January 31, "cuts the electromagnetic cord" and officially launches a year celebrating H.C. The Christmas Stamp Foundation has existed since 1974 and publishes a new Christmas stamp every year. The purpose and income goes to Greenlandic cultural purposes and / or to support Greenlandic arts and crafts. Since September 2009, the foundation's patron has been HRH Crown Prince Frederik, in addition, the foundation also has a handful of Greenlandic / Danish ambassadors.
