"H.R.H The Crown Prince has agreed to become patron of HCØ2020, the nationwide celebration of the 200th anniversary of H.C. Ørsted's discovery of electromagnetism.

26. March

The Dane H.C. Ørsted revolutionised the world in 1820 when he discovered that a compass needle moves when one moves a live wire over it. This connection between electricity and magnetism is one of the world's greatest scientific discoveries, and last year the 200th anniversary of the discovery of electromagnetism was marked with the nationwide celebration HCØ2020, for which His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was patron.

In the video, the Crown Prince tells about the HCØ2020 celebration, which due to the situation regarding COVID-19 was different than planned. However, the year still offered lectures, debates, exhibitions, and events, where His Royal Highness as patron, among other things, visited Sophienborg School, which in September focused on major scientific discoveries.
